Within a couple of days, the Yankees organization and baseball in general, lost two giants..
Firstly, Bob Sheppard, the man who loved the English language and prided himself in his elocution .. his voice will live on thru player introductions.. .. Until he retires.. Derek Jeter will always have the recording of Bob Sheppard introducing him.. it is a testament to his love of yankee baseball.
Secondly.. THE BOSS .. George M. Steinbrenner.. he is the man who brought the team out of the muck of the early 70's and then slogged thru the 80's where the most exciting thing about the team each year was whether he would hire or fire Billy Martin..
Then the glorious late 90's and again last year.. his last ring..
George went out after his 80's birthday, as the reigning world champion and on the day of the All-Star game!

more lebron thoughts...
Sooooo i thought i would just put down my tweets from today into a post...
LeBron sent Cleveland a truck load of tissues and lotion..since he couldnt provide them with their happy ending.
LeBron is in tune with needy children.. doing his announcement for charity in Greenwich, CT.. those kids need their Gucci. OY!
LeBron will just sit on his throne tonight, and let the sorting hat make the decision.. my guess.. Slytherin.
LeBron will announce tonight if he is Team Edward or Team Jacob.
Rumor has it that LeBron has the words "F**K Ohio" polished on his middle finger.
At the end of LeBron's decision special.. he is going to wake up in bed with Bob Newhart. LeBron was at his basketball in Akron handing out miami Heat hats... He left quickly after being bitch slapped by Betty White.
From now on, i want to be addressed as LeYenta.. does that make me a Queen? OY! Hey, why not? i have as many rings as LeBron
The next question is who will be coaching LeBron, LeWade and LeBosh? Will it be LeErik or LePat?
kobe said that at 9pm tonight while LeBron is announcing his decision, He will be shining his rings.
It is surprising that LeBron has made a decision.. because he up until now he hasnt been able to close the deal.

Report is that LeBron was spotted at Miami Ink getting a tattoo of himself on his chest. I guess it is true, he is two-faced! OY!

I just turned over my car and set it on fire in anticipation of LeBron not choosing the knicks tonight.
To not cause speculation as to where hes going LeBron will make his decision in a plane over bermuda triangle.. lets hope he isnt lost. OY!
Could you imagine if LeBron snaps his ankle walking up the steps to his podium-throne to make his announcement. OY!

LeBron-apalooza!!.... and a happy birthday greeting!
Ah yes.. things are getting wackadoodle with all this LeBron stuff.. THE last time an LBJ announcement got so much press was when our 36th President, LBJ, said,
"I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your president."

time flies...
when you are not blogging.... OY! i am sure you have been waiting with baited breath for my latest missive.. HA! .. if someone blogs and no one reads it ..is it still a blog?
anyway... i knew it had been a few days.. and i think i have a draft that i started, but it is such old news by now, i thought i would start from scratch..
the USA is out and I am still watching the World Cup.. Uruguay, Netherlands, Spain, and Germany..
i think i will go for Netherlands.. it is the only place of the four i have visited. Ok so i barely made it out of Amsterdam.. but that is a whole other story. :-)

The Yankees won today and are in first place.. so that is good news...
Tiger Woods is still having trouble with his wood(s).. and his putter ... he is 13 shots off the pace at the ATT national in PA. I think that there is an IHOP waitress could turn him around.. some hotcakes would surely do the trick ... pun totally intended!
44 days till the first preseason game where the JETs will prove that the "new meadowlands" is the JETs HOUSE and the giants are the visitors...AND 218 days till the JETs lift that Lombardi Trophy!!
