MACCA!!!! ... a la Paul McCartney..

I saw him in concert this past Saturday night...

As always, he was amazing.

His voice has held up..

He puts on an incredible show..

His concert doesnt vary much .. but I would enjoy seeing him over and over..

Yes he is a bit of a ham.. but frankly so would i be.. if i were him..

Ok.. thats right.. I am a ham.. and i dont have an iota of his fame.. ( though there is still time :) )

SO many highlights.. Helter Skelter blew the place up! Something was wonderful as was the Abbey Road Medley as the last encore.. Speaking of Encores, Billy Joel came out to mass hysteria to play "I saw her Standing There" with Paul.

OY! I wanted to post this a couple of days ago..

seems to be a theme with me.. procrastination.. actually that has been a theme all my life! Ha!

just ask my college friends.. i dont think there was one assignment that i didnt finish at the last moment..

so dont be surprised if my posts are a day late and most likely a dollar short. :)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two..

SO i went with my daughter to the midnight show on thursday,,,

of course i dressed up...

i was the oldest one there that was dressed up. Ha!

Of course.. my daughter mused that i could easily find everything I needed for the costume in my own closet..

Yep.. i am a fashion icon..

Movie was great! Of course, as a reader of the books and listener of the audio books (ok i am a bit obsessed) There were parts of the book that i missed and parts that were glossed over..

BUT still wonderful.. and i still believe that JK Rowling will write more about this world..

Of course I still believe in the Tooth Fairy.

My best most unrealistic idealistic thoughts come when i am driving.. i dont know what it is about being behind the wheel but i think of the most amazing things..

Yet as soon as i turn the car off...

Also don't tell me to write them down.. because as soon as pen in in my hand.. my head is as empty as the Meadowlands in the 4th quarter when the Jets are losing. OY!

I have also tried to record them on my phone while driving .. didnt work either...

SO beyond the heat.. I watched the final episode of last year's JETS Hard Knocks.. as the best CB in the league.. comes back into the fold....

This lockout needs to END! NOW!

The rookie pay scale is holding them up now.. frankly i think if i was a Vet .. i would want them to scale it back... it sucks that a player has proven himself on the field..  gets paid a lot less then a 21 yr old college football player.

I was a teacher... and i would have been pissed beyond belief if they hired a teacher right out of college, who maybe had done some student teaching and they got paid twice as much as i did.

i also hope that retired and disabled journeyman players dont get screwed also with a new agreement..

They are pissing off a Yenta.. and now a hot Yenta.. not good at all...

BUT all that said.. as a rabid fan.. i just want my JETS football..

But i dont want to assume a deal will be done with me in mind..

because ( to end ..like this post started.. with a Neil Simon quote.. this time from The Odd Couple)

I just met Mike Golic... (ok it was yesterday..i meant to post this last night lol )

And i am always amazed at how awkward i can be..

For those of my readers who don't know who he is.. he is half of the team of Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN.. I have been listening to them for at least 9 years..

Anyway... I was shopping with my girlie.. wait i mean i was holding hangers while my daughter was shopping.. :)

And i turn around and there he is.. with his daughter and i look and his wife was at the cash register..

the thought went thru my head.. should i just look stalkerish at him or should i go up and introduce myself..interrupting his family time..

I wonder if he felt safe in a women's clothes store? And by that I mean.. I wonder if he felt he wouldn't get recognized?

Ha! Too bad he ran into the Yenta.

I practically cornered him.. He came close to throwing a mannequin in between us..

So i went up to him... apologizing before i even introduced myself .. I shook his hand.. and then went back to my hanger holding for my daughter.. As i was shaking his hand.. i could feel his daughter rolling her eyes (HA!) as I could feel my own daughter rolling her eyes at the back of the store.

Even though i was awkward and probably blushed to the point that i most certainly looked like i was having a hot flash, he was very nice. As he left the store with the family.. the sensor alarm went off.. he raised his hands and said, "its not me" Funny!

I know when I am famous, I will do my best to make my fans feel at ease. :) LOL!

My first at the ballpark MLB game in Years.. and the YANKEEES WIN!!!

Ok first let me get this out and i am so embarrassed.. I like Citi Field...

Maybe it is because I saw MACCA there for the first time in 2009...

but i enjoy it..

I hope i like the new Yankees stadium more!

I LOVE the year Bartolo is having so far.. i dig chunky pitchers who have a resurgence..!

I did love the fact that although there were fights and yelling back and forth between Mets and Yanks fan.. after it was all over.. as we were walking out.. not quite arm in arm but sharing the same space.. someone started the chanting " i hate boston" "i hate boston" and soon  everyone was partaking and it took over the stairs.. and for a brief moment fans of different teams in the same city united against evil... it was lovely.

I really was hoping this was going to be a funny post.. i was feeling hilarious about 8 minutes ago but i didnt capitalize on it..

I had ice cream instead.. 

But i cant be faulted because Ice Cream is an essential part of every summer day! :)

 And with that,.. i say comment if you want even though there isnt much of substance in this post..

and oh yeah, Yankeeees WINNNNN!!!

Peter Falk died the other day...

Most people of a certain age ( yeah i know.. my age,,.. ) remember him as Lieutenant Colombo.. who made "rumpled" cool..

He was fabulous in "The In-Laws" ( the original one)

Serpentine.. Serpentine...

And as the Grandpa/Narrator  in the "Princess Bride" .. he read only the good parts...

He was wonderful to watch..

"One more thing".... we will miss you..

Recently i had two ( yes.. count them... TWO .. double ONE... ) people say that they missed my blog.

Soooo what to talk about??

How about the NFL LOCKOUT? OY! Actually .. it makes me so mad to talk about it ...

The disconnect between the owners and players AND their fans is getting wider and wider...

IF i felt that the major reason the players was doing this was to help the numerous retired players who are now disabled without health insurance ...

OR if it was to help the young players who might only have 3 years in the league to learn how to deal with that and manage their money.. I might be more sympathetic...

Dayenu! 

OR if it was to help the employees who get paid diddly squat to fill the cold tubs.. do the laundry .. fill the gatorade.. I might be more sympathetic..

AND maybe that is a part of the negotiations.. but all I hear about is the millionaires vs the billionaires...

Hard to feel compassion

Ok i need to calm down.. i am not a young woman... Ha!

Of course if they had called the Yenta.. i would have had a deal worked out weeks ago AND i would have brought homemade cookies to the meetings!

And i make really good cookies!
